Today in Butterfly (13.5.19), we have been busy becoming surgeons of punctuation! We got into the role of a surgeon to help us cut up words and bandage them back up, to turn them into contracted forms. We discussed how the apostrophe shows where the letters are missing.
The children absolutely loved their new role, with some taking their new responsibility very seriously!

We were incredibly lucky to have some of the talented Hedgehog children visit our class to share their wonderful novels.
The Butterfly children listened beautifully to the girls share their creative, engaging writing. We have even asked for them to come back when they have finished so we can find out what happens!

The Butterflies have been busy writing some fabulous, creative stories as part of their Literacy lessons. They planned their stories by thinking about the characters, setting, the problem and the solution. To add a real purpose to their writing, they excitedly shared their stories with our Reception children, who were very complimentary!

The Butterflies have been enjoying the outside area this week, even in the cold conditions! They have been mark making with our chalk board and white boards as well building vehicles and towers with the Octoplay pieces.

Well done to all of our Butterflies today - 30/11/18. A fabulous celebration of your gifts and talents to parents and staff. A 'Thrilling' assembly this afternoon!

The Butterfly class have settled in brilliantly after half term. We started our morning by taking part in a trail to discover what we would be learning about in Literacy. We worked as a team to follow the clues to find the letters, which would reveal the title of our new book - BEEGU!

It was lovely to see so many parents at our Butterfly class assembly today. The children did a fabulous job of retelling our class story , reading their descriptive writing and finishing it all off with a dance! It was lovely to see the children so excited to share their brilliant work with their parents.

Well done to Miss Cochrane's busy Butterflies - a fabulously motivating and fun start to the year for all our Year 1 and 2 children. We've heard lots of praise and encouraging comments throughout our first week. Excellent independent effort in writing tasks.
We're really proud of everyone. A special congratulations to Zachary for earning the highest amount of dojos and to Lexi for being this week's role model.
