Well Being & Healthy Minds

Thank you to Mrs Rozycki, our ELSA, for ordering these amazing, new resources for everyone. We look forward to using them across the school; super support for our SEMH work. 07/02/2020

Singing is good for the soul - another super choir performance today (13/12/19) to Loose Ends in the village hall.

Quiet reflection time with Pom Pom making - every child in KS2 enjoyed quiet reflection time in small groups; time to be still, talk and think.
Thank you to one of our many amazing mums, Kelly, for giving up numerous afternoons to lead this project.
Our 2019 tree this year symbolises, and celebrates, each individual - yet, how important it is to work together as a team. Happy Christmas to all.

Time for hot chocolate and craft creativity - all good time out for our learning brains. 05/12/19

Enjoying time out to sing Christmas songs in Sherborne- 03/12/19

Lunchtime Lego fun - all ages enjoy quiet ‘design and build’ time. 27/11/19

22.11.19 - The Butterfly Children have been enjoying spending time with the class guinea pigs. We believe this promotes a greater responsibility for our children, as well as affection and empathy.

Healthy minds — we believe in giving children the space to be socially happy and mentally well; time to scoot, sing and enjoy ‘cat’s cradle’ are just a few of the activities our children love. Katie and Jacob - well done for remembering your cycle helmet.

Autumn 2019: we make time to be in the great outdoors - observing the Mercury Transit across the sun, experiencing and appreciating music and reflecting and respecting our amazing historical facts.

Well done to Henry, Joshua, Megan, Sasha and Ruby for designing and making two new bird boxes with Mr J in today's LOTC (learning outside the classroom) workshop - 08/03/19. Super angle and measuring in Maths, plus outstanding team work. Let's hope some clever robins in our School's Learning Garden move in soon.

Fire lighting, apple magic with the ring maker, hot chocolate with the kelly cans and baking over the fire today as part of our awesome LOTC work with Mr J. Fantastic work year 6 team. (Learning Outside The Classroom.) 15/02/19

Another fabulous outdoor learning session with Mr J Ingrams. Today (30/11/18) our 'Peace' group achieved the following:
- passed their 'safe fire lighting challenge.'
- used their imagination to create a beautiful  natural piece of art.
- designed and created clay tree masks.
- In outdoor Maths, learned how to find the height of a very tall tree without climbing it! They simply used triangles.
- Developed more team building skills.
Thank you to Mr J who has opened up a wonderful new avenue to learning at St Nicholas.

Well done Ben.
